Happy sunshine

The Happy Sunshine Cup Cozy was born from two inspirations at that time in my life.  The first was when my cousin visited us for a few days.  During that time, she wanted to learn more crochet stitches, and I taught her to make a cup cozy.  From that visit, I was encouraged to design another new cozy for my blog to share with readers.

After my cousin’s visit, they sent flowers as a thank-you for the wonderful time we shared.  The flowers were placed in a happy face cup, which reminded me of my mom.  She loved happy faces!

The flowers, and especially the “vase,” were reminders of those I love and the memories shared.  After designing the cup cozy, I thought it appropriate to take pictures with the Happy Face vase in the background.

A few years later, my cousin passed, and this image means more to me today.  It reminds me of those I love, of memories that can never be taken away, and to cherish those we love, right here, in the here and now.

I hope you enjoy crocheting this cozy and that it will bring many wonderful memories and a cozy you’ll reach for time and again.  Happy crocheting!
