I couldn’t get a good picture of it in the plant pot, so I had to do it this way.
This simple crochet plant stake takes just a few minutes to make and is a great way to use up leftover yarn!
Materials
Small amount of worsted-weight yarn
Crochet hook – H/5 mm
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Wooden skewer or bamboo plant stake
Tacky glue (optional)
Small button (optional)
Finished Size: Approximately 3–5 inches, depending on your yarn and hook
Difficulty: Beginner
Easy Crochet Flower
1.) Make a magic ring. Info on making the ring is on the crochet corner page
2.) Crochet 5 sc into the ring.
3.) Pull the ring tight and join with a sl st to the first sc.
4.) Make the petals:
Ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st in the same stitch.
Repeat this around each of the 5 stitches.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Attach the Flower
Place the flower at the top of your wooden skewer.
Using your tapestry needle and a small amount of yarn, stitch the flower securely to the skewer.
You can wrap a little green yarn around the top of the skewer, underneath the flower, to give it a finished look.
Also, I used a little Tacky glue on the top of the skewer to hold the flower.
You can put a small button in the center of the flower also
Gently push your finished crochet plant stake into the soil of your favorite plant.
Quick Tip: Make several flowers in different colors to create a cute little garden collection. This is also a wonderful scrap-yarn project!
