Pattern Instructions:
Row 1: Chain 12. Separate your stitches cleanly. In the second chain from your hook, work 1 single crochet (sc). Work 1 sc in each of the next 9 chains. In the very last chain, work 3 sc (this allows you to turn the corner smoothly). Now, working along the opposite side of your starting chain, work 1 sc in each of the next 9 spaces. Work 2 sc in the final space. Slip stitch to the first sc to join. (24 stitches total)
Row 2: Chain 2 (does not count as a stitch). Work 1 double crochet (dc) into the same space and into every stitch all the way around. Slip stitch to the first dc to join. (24 stitches)
Rows 3–7 (The Mesh Body): Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc + chain 1). Skip the next stitch, [work 1 dc in the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch]. Repeat the steps inside the brackets all the way around. Slip stitch to the 2nd chain of your starting chain to join.
Row 8 (The Drawstring Border): Chain 1. Work 1 sc in every dc space and 1 sc in every chain space all the way around. Slip stitch to join. Fasten off and weave in your ends using your yarn needle.
The Drawstring Cord:
Chain 45. Fasten off and tie a small knot at both ends. Weave this chain tie in and out of the open windows of Row 7. Place a bar of your favorite soap inside, pull the drawstring tight, and you are ready to go!
