trimmed the ends. It came out great. It was so easy, and a fast project.
I purchased this ribbon from Dollar Tree and cut it to the desired length for my book. Then I applied a small amount of wet glue along the inside of the book, near the edge, as shown. Added the ribbon, let it dry before closing the book.
